Introducing our penguin, Percy Verance!
Earlier this school year, children and staff dressed in black and white to raise money for our Waddle on Sea Project. Thanks to all the donations, we raised enough money to adopt a penguin sculpture and Mrs. Gornall and Mrs. Lionel collected the sculpture from Southend.
Back in school, we had a competition to design our penguin's outfit and the winning designs chose to include what is important to us at Millhouse. From the front, our penguin looks extremely smart in his Millhouse uniform and from the back he showcases our Core Values. As one of our Core Values is perseverance, we decided to call him Mr. Percy Verance! Mrs. Gornall and the competition winners have all done an incredible job, painting and varnishing Percy so that he really looks his best and the whole school loved his unveiling in assembly.
Percy has now made his trip back to Southend, and he will be on display as one of the penguins in the Waddle on Sea trail, which will be held this summer. We are sure that you will all want to go and visit him over the summer holidays and have a photo taken with him in Southend! After that, he will return to Millhouse and take up residence in the school grounds for us all to enjoy.
