Uniform

Our uniform identifies us as a school community, and we are proud of how smart our children are.

Our uniform policy outlines our expectations and how parents can purchase items.

We have taken into account the statutory guidance from the Department for Education around the purchase options for items of school uniform and have limited the number of branded items we expect children to wear (school sweatshirt only). We also encourage parents to reuse and recycle items of uniform (branded and non-branded) at the Laindon School Uniform Bank.

Please label all school clothes and PE kit with the child’s name and class. PE kit is to go in a named bag that can be hung on a peg.

Jewellery

Children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school unless there are exceptional reasons. If earrings for pierced ears are worn, they should be small studs. These must be taken out for PE as tape is not enough to prevent damage to the carotid artery which is just behind the ear. It may be easier for your child if you can send them to school without earrings on the days when they will be having PE.
